simoca city is situated in the southeast from the province of Tucuman, about 50km from San Miguel de Tucumán in 157 national road
Simoca town is known in our country as “The cradle of tradition and folklore” or “The national capital of sulky”. Here it`s placed the most ancient and picturesque event that you can visit in the province: The Simoca Street Market”.
In 1700 Simoca was a very important town. The roads` reformation - because of San Miguel de Tucumán relocation to his current location- originated one route that crossed the town. For the travellers who were passing in the North of the country, Simoca was an obligatory stop, which turned her into a national stop.
It caused, already in the 19th century, the Saturday´s meetings, in which The Simoca steet market was consolidated as an impostergable event.
